PCCS2009 e-News Industry Update

The fifth world congress of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery to be held in the beautiful Australian tropical resort city of Cairns, is now just five weeks away.

It brings together surgeons and cardiologists who deal primarily with Congenital Heart Defects, both in childhood and in adult life. The meeting is a four yearly event and will have taken place in all the populated continents except Africa – where the next meeting will take place (in Cape Town) in 2013.

The organising committee is delighted with the response from both industry and practitioners with well over 1500 delegates and faculty/invited speakers having registered for the “Beyond the Barrier” congress.

Further registrations are still flowing in on a daily basis with two months to go and we anticipate well over 2000 participants.

Whilst the response from industry has been terrific there are still some opportunities open for sponsorship and some space available in the technical exhibition. The organising committee would urge decision makers to get behind this ground breaking Congress.

A breakdown of registrations shows that to date 71 different countries will be represented and the big delegations are coming from the United States (180), Japan (163), China (76), Canada (67), India (56), United Kingdom (55), Korea (48), New Zealand (48), Brazil (35), Thailand (29), Malaysia (28), Germany (24) and of course Australia (217).
