Welcome to the next edition of our e-Newsletter bringing you the latest news on the 6th World Congress for Hair Research in Cairns from 16-19 June 2010.

Scientific Program Update

Following review by the session chairpersons and conference organizing committee, over 200 abstracts have been accepted for presentation at the World Congress of Hair Research. Abstracts will be published in a special supplement of Experimental Dermatology: the official Journal of the Australasian Hair and Wool Research Society. In addition to the 5 plenary lectures and the welcoming address by Nobel Laureate Professor Peter Doherty, 65 abstracts have been selected for oral presentations and 130 for poster presentations. Significant time has been allocated in the program for the 2 poster sessions. The poster sessions will be vibrant and interactive. Food, drink and entertainment will be provided to help delegates focus on the posters.

The conference will commence with the clinical symposium at 9:00am on Wednesday 16 June. The final session will end at 3:30pm on Saturday 19 June. Delegates who plan to stay on in Cairns for the Australasian Society of Dermatology Research meeting should register at www.hair2010.org

Special Invitation

Dr Murugusundram, Editor of the International Journal Trichology would like to invite all presenters to submit a 2 page manuscript for publication in a special segment of Trichology called "Reports from the 6th World Congress of Hair Research, Cairns Australia, 2010"

Manuscripts for this section should be no longer than a 1000 words, a maximum of 4 pictures or tables, and 10 references. These can be submitted directly online here.

ASDR Annual Scientific Meeting
Abstract Submission Extended to 23 April 2010

Immediately following the 6th World Congress for Hair Research the Australasian Society for Dermatology Research are holding their Annual Scientific Meeting at the Hilton Hotel Cairns.

There are only limited places available for this meeting, you can register via the link provided at www.hair2010.org

Visa Information
All international visitors require a valid visa for entry into Australia (New Zealand visitors require a valid passport only). A facility for electronically issuing visas, the Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) system, is currently available through international travel agents and airlines in over 30 countries including the US, UK, parts of Western Europe, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan. This system also includes pre-clearance for entry which reduces the time needed to process passengers on arrival. Your local Australian Embassy or Consulate can advise of the availability. For non-ETA countries, visas are issued from Australian Embassies and Consulates around the world. In non-ETA countries, we recommend that you apply early for your visa.
